Complete dentures, also called false teeth, are replacement teeth for those who do not have any viable teeth left. Dentures can be made of many different materials, such as porcelain or acrylic, molded into a replica of your original teeth and gums. Depending on the type and cost of the dentures, these can take from one day to several months to be fitted. Although you can get dentures quickly, they will not fit as well as those that take longer to produce.

The dentist makes a dental impression to form a model that will be used to produce a tray used in getting your individual bite registration. This is then fitted to your teeth over several visits about a month apart, to be sure to get the dentures as close to perfect as they can be.
