Have you ever had a dental emergency? Many people do not know what can be considered a dental emergency. Here are some emergencies and what to do about them:

• Losing a tooth is the biggest emergency and has to be treated immediately. Try to place the tooth back in place and hold it in there until you can get to the dental office. If you cannot get it back in the socket, put it under your tongue until you get there.
• A broken tooth is similar to losing a tooth. Rinse your mouth with water and put the piece of tooth in a wet cloth or towel. Get to your dentist office immediately.
• Toothaches can be a sign of cavity or infection. Either way, you need to see your dentist right away.
